Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American performer Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
