Approximately 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the region, bringing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.

Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Victoria's Climate Difficulties

Meanwhile, around one thousand households in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.

Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.

The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both states.
